Don't worry if you have no dance experience, 90% of our students don't. We start you off at ground zero and build you up.  The classes are for adults of all ages and are full of people just like you looking to learn some fly moves, stay in shape, and meet cool people!

We have been in business going on 5 years now, and have taught almost 2000 students!  With rave reviews from newspapers and magazines and a variety of local television and radio shows and news programs. So obviously we know what we are doing! Learn from the best. Even your normal dancing will improve as you learn how to master your body movement!

Here's what the press and students had to say about the Breakdance Chicago Classes:

"The class practically pays for itself with all the new-found confidence and respect you'll get on the dancefloor." - UR CHICAGO

"Even their introductory class can give students enough confidence to be comfortable in nearly any dance circle." - TIMEOUT CHICAGO

"Between the music, history lesson, comfortable atmosphere, fitness level and fun factors, this six-week session is well worth the price. I'm already practicing my bgirl stance." CHICAGO SUN-TIMES

"I took Breakdance Chicago's beginner class last year with a girlfriend of mine... we came in and did a class for free and immediately signed up!! It was lots of fun and amazing workout!! He takes it step by step and breaks down every move for ya... Brian is a very talented dancer and a great teacher.. I would definitely recommend this class for anyone looking for a workout or to be a better dancer." - Celeste S.

Individual Attention
Every Student Gets Plenty Of Individual Attention
From One Of Our Numerous Qualified Instructors

We are SERIOUS about teaching you how to Break!

What To Wear
Just remember that you'll be moving around a lot, probably sweating a bit, too. So basically just wear anything you'd feel comfortable working out in.  Sweats, jumpers, yoga pants, are all great.
We'd advise against wearing tight jeans, big belts, or dangly jewelry.  You don't want anything to get in the way of your movement.
You're also going to want to wear a DRY pair of gym shoes/sneakers. You may not enter the studio with wet shoes full of snow and salt.

Parking:
Most people do not have a hard time finding street parking on either Oakdale, Greenview, or Wellington.  However there is a small pay parking lot you can use behind the theatre, which we share with St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Enter this parking lot on Oakdale St.

There is a second parking lot on the corner of Southport Ave. and Oakdale St.  Enter this parking lot on Southport Ave.

Note:  The St. Alphonsus lots are NOT free, they have a "Pay and Display" system in place.

The "Pay Station" machines have instructions (see copy below) and rates posted on or near them in both lots.  The machine in the Southport lot is located between the in and out driveways.  There are two machines in the Oakdale lot, one on the back wall of the Athenaeum and the other at the west end of the lot. Should a machine not work for some reason, please pay at any other machine, making sure that the receipt gets onto your dashboard.

The lots are patrolled and cars which do not have the proper receipt in the front window, will be towed even if you did pay!  If you park and pay for a short amount of time and stay past the ending time printed on your receipt, you must pay again since your parking receipt will have expired. Please read and understand the instructions posted in each lot since the theatre can not help you in the event you are towed. Please note: The machines take credit cards or cash and exact change is required. The box office is unable to supply you with small bills for these machines. Cars left in the lots past midnight are subject to being towed!

If both parking lots are full, there are two City of Chicago parking lots within a few blocks of the theatre.
1. Ashland and Barry Aves.--go 2 blocks WEST to Ashland Ave. and 1 block NORTH to Barry Ave.
2. Belmont and Greenview Aves.--go 1 block WEST to Greenview Ave. and 2 blocks NORTH to Belmont Ave.
